August, already!

I still have hundreds of photos to post from Italy, but lately my life has been consumed with work and wedding planning!

Italy is now 6 weeks behind me, and the wedding is just 6 weeks away!  How did this happen.  It's still  supposed to be May...

When in Rome ...... Take lots of pictures?

The Colosseum was probably Gracie's favorite part of our trip to Rome, but for me, it was all about the plastic sword photo op.....

Roman Holiday

We were lucky enough to have a few days to spend in Rome when my Mom and sister were visiting... I could never spend enough time in that city.... what an absolutely amazing place!

From Kathrin

okay, I don't usually post things that aren't mine, but I just HAD to share this. My dear friend Kathrin sent it to me, and I haven't laughed this hard in my life.

At 1:19 I almost died laughing. Watch the whole thing. It'll be the best 2 minutes of your day. :)

More weirdness, brought to you by Milan.

We stopped into a tiny shop in Milan that was literally FILLED with little traditional Italian wood carved figures.  I figured you wouldn't believe me, so here, see for yourself...

Filled! Craziness.  :)

Mom's Visit - Milano

My Mom and sister came to visit in April, we had so much fun just running around the city, enjoying the spring weather.  We were here for a few "bonus" days, thanks to the volcano, but we made the most of them ...

Rain, rain, go away.... then again, I have so much homework you might as well stay.

Looks like I have no excuse not to get some serious studying and blogging done this week....  :)

UPDATE:   They added more days of rain to the forecast.  We're going to need an ark up in here pretty soon.  : (

UPSDATE 2 :   Never mind Wednesday being sunny.  More rain.  D:
We are now going on 2 weeks straight of rain! Monsoon season in Italy?

Long time, no blog!

I am officially back from my weeks of spring break adventure with Mom and Grace... I am going to put on some Debussy, and get to photo editing... there will be lots (LOTS) of pictures and videos coming up.  I made a grave error and didn't take nearly enough photos when Laura and Noelle were visiting, so I kinda went a little crazy when Mom and Grace were here.  In total, we ended up with 2467 photos and 37 videos in just over two weeks.... as Tim Gunn would say, I need to work on editing myself... who needs that many photos?? Oh well, for now I need to work on editing photos.  O:)

Mom and Grace and I were supposed to come back to Milan on Saturday, but all of the trains were sold out.  We got tickets for Sunday, then found a last minute hotel for the additional night.  We got to the Central Station in Milan Sunday afternoon just in time to hear an announcement that all tickets for trains leaving from Milan are sold out through Friday.  If our flight Wednesday to the UK is cancelled, we won't be able to substitute train tickets for the trip like we were hoping.  According to the BBC, 100,000+ travelers are stranded as a result of the airline closure....  hopefully Mom can make it back in time to catch her flight back to the states next week, and hopefully Grace can make it back in time to meet her boyfriend who is flying in next week.  Yikes bikes.

In other news, Rome was AMAZING, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.... I can't wait to go back!!  The Vatican is the most beautiful building I've ever seen, and the Vatican Museum blew my mind.  The Colosseum was eerie, and everywhere I looked there were beautiful statues and quaint side streets.   I managed to rack up a staggering 1336 photos in four days....  I will be posting some of them over the next few weeks, but now I have to go enjoy my stranded company in Milan!

Ciao, Ciao!
